STARBUCKS HIGHLIGHTS STANCE AND VALUES IN RESPONSE TO WAVE OF DISINFORMATION ABOUT MIDDLE EAST INVOLVEMENT

In response to the recent wave of disinformation about Starbucks, we would like to clarify our views, values and mission. Starbucks is an international company with employees in more than 80 countries. Our goal has always been to create a welcoming environment where customers and partners from around the world can meet and exchange ideas.

Starbucks is not a political organisation and does not support any government or military operation. We strongly reject any form of hatred and violence.

For more than 15 years, Starbucks in the Netherlands has built strong relationships with employees and customers. Our shops are and will continue to be a welcoming place for everyone. Inclusion, diversity and respect are core values for us. Our employees and customers reflect these values: we are proud that our employees represent 46 different nationalities. To underline our core values, we work together with SWOM (Stichting Werken en studeren Op Maat) on several initiatives to improve employment opportunities for young professionals with a disability.

The misreporting of Starbucks' position on the situation in the Middle East runs counter to our values of openness, inclusion and respect for every individual. The Starbucks Foundation has supported Gaza residents affected by the conflict by making donations to organisations such as World Central Kitchen.

Our goal is always to create a welcoming environment where our customers and employees from around the world can come together and share ideas. We continue to pursue this mission.
